“As a physician, I spent my career caring for women. As a filmmaker, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to women, tell their stories, and share them with a much larger audience.
When this project began, my primary identity was that of a surgeon. I had left the operating room and was trying to make sense of my own experiences alongside the experiences of so many women I had worked cared for and worked with.
I started asking sharing my story, asking questions, and listening to what other women had to say about their careers.
What began as a very personal journey has become something much bigger. It’s now a community of women, talking about their professional lives. And this week, 1001CUTS will be broadcast nationally on PBS World.
