“Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is proud to have played a role in the Phase III Krascendo 1 study, presented at ESMO 2026 and published in The NEJM Group. The research included contributions from SCRI investigator Bo Wang, MD, SCRI at Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center, The US Oncology Network who co-authored the publication. The research found that divarasib, an investigational KRAS G12C inhibitor, lowered the risk of disease progression or death by 42% and the risk of death by 44% in patients with previously treated KRAS G12C-mutated lung cancer.

Dr. Wang describes the findings as ‘potentially practice-changing, noting, ‘For the first time, we have a study showing that a next-generation KRAS-targeted therapy can outperform existing targeted treatment options in a randomized phase III trial.’

Studies like Krascendo 1 are bringing patients closer to more precise, effective, and tolerable treatment options. We’re grateful to Dr. Wang and the research collaborations that make these discoveries possible.”
