About ATOM Coalition and Private Sector Council
The Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) that aims to increase access to cancer medicines in low- and lower-middle income countries (LLMICs).
The Private Sector Council leverages its industry expertise and experience by providing essential input into the operations and activities of the Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition.
The Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition focus areas are:
- Strengthening the capacity of countries and systems
- Increasing the availability of essential generics and biosimilars
- Increasing the number of patented medicines and new medicines in the pipeline
The Council is chaired by Michele Mestrinaro, the Vice President and Global Head of Policy and Growth of Global Public Affairs Policy, Novartis.
