The Patient Support Pillar 2023 Impact Report of American Cancer Society
Arif Kamal, Chief Patient Officer for the American Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“At the American Cancer Society, our purpose is to serve people, and in doing so, end cancer as we know it for everyone.
We spend 81 cents of every dollar on direct mission programming, which is done by our pillars of advocacy (American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) led by Lisa A. Lacasse), discovery (led by William Dahut), and the work that my team leads in patient support.
Within patient support, we serve nearly 80 million people annually by meeting people where they are, with what they need, when they need it.
And we do so in a trustworthy way, by promising good intentions and executing with compassionate action.
Was pleased to see Forbes recognize the American Cancer Society as a Top 100 Charity, coming in at number 25.
Moreover, I’m very proud of our commitment to the 81 cents, noting among top cancer charities we are unique.
Learn more about patient support in our 2023 impact report—and look for the 2024 report in the coming months.”
