Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) shared on LinkedIn:
“There was a palpable sense of purpose in the room at a special Parliamentary Friends of Women’s Health gathering at Parliament House on Thursday.
Ovarian cancer was in the spotlight, thanks to Senator Marielle Smith and the parliamentarians who coordinated the event with Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, with OCRF CEO Robin Penty delivering the keynote.
And what a powerhouse of inspiring female leadership was in the room to show support. Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Rebecca White spoke persuasively of the many challenges and need for change in gynaecological cancers, and it was an honour to spend the morning alongside Jean Hailes CEO, Dr Sarah L. White, Ovarian Cancer Australia CEO Debbie Shiell, and Inherited Cancers Australia’s Programs and Advocacy Manager Robyn Smith.
Community Strong MP, Allegra Spender MP – Member for Wentworth dropped by, in time to have a chat with a strong voice of lived experience, Bin Barnier.
We look forward to continuing to talk and work together with this incredible group of individuals and organisations as we seek to improve the lives of women affected by ovarian and other gynaecological cancers.
Thanks to everyone who attended today!”
