NCI Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences: NCI Launches $200,000 ODS Impact Prize

NCI Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences shared on LinkedIn:

“Introducing the NCI Office of Data Sharing (ODS) Impact Prize, a $200,000 challenge recognizing ideas and exemplars that advance the sharing and reuse of cancer research outputs!

We’re looking for submissions across three tracks:

  • Track 1 (Ideas): High-impact opportunities, gaps, or approaches to improve how cancer research outputs are shared and reused
  • Track 2 (Exemplars): Creative, successful strategies already implemented with evidence of impact
  • Track 3 (Jamboree): Meritorious project abstracts submitted to the 2026 NCI Data Jamboree

16 prizes are available, including a $20,000 Grand Prize, with awards ranging from $10,000–$15,000 across each track. We are looking for input from all members of the cancer research community, including faculty, librarians, patient advocates, and citizen scientists (there’s no career-stage requirement), but we strongly encourage submissions from early career/trainees and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds and/or less-resourced institutions.

Submission window: August 3 – October 5, 2026

Want to learn more before you apply? Join our pre-submission webinar on August 12, 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET.”
