Victory for Colorectal Cancer Prevention – Fight Colorectal Cancer
Fight Colorectal Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Victory for Colorectal Cancer Prevention.
Starting January 1, patients in Nebraska, Illinois, Kentucky, and Vermont now have full insurance coverage for their colonoscopy procedures. This is a monumental step in expanding access to life-saving screenings that detect and prevent colorectal cancer.
State Highlights:
Nebraska: Full coverage for all parts of colorectal cancer screenings, including polyp removal, pathology, specialist consultations, bowel prep meds, and anesthesia.
Illinois: Free colonoscopies for anyone insured and deemed medically necessary, including patients with symptoms or existing conditions.
Kentucky: Insurers must cover any cancer screening consistent with national clinical guidelines, without cost-sharing.
Vermont: Screenings for average-risk individuals of all ages are now covered with no out-of-pocket costs, aligning with national recommendations.
At Fight CRC, we believe prevention and early detection save lives. These state-specific wins are critical in the fight to eliminate colorectal cancer.”
