“Natalia Oprea, from Università Bocconi SDA Bocconi, presented a poster at the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) Annual Meeting!
In her poster, Natalia explored healthcare professionals’ attitudes, current practices, and barriers to adopting AI-supported tools for assessing and predicting aesthetic outcomes in breast cancer care.
Based on an international survey of 468 clinicians from 60 countries, the study found that 80% of respondents strongly agreed that aesthetic concerns should be addressed with patients. However, the use of AI-powered tools for aesthetic outcome evaluation and prediction remains limited.
The findings highlight the potential of AI-based tools to support more consistent aesthetic assessment, improve documentation efficiency and contribute to shared decision-making, while also pointing to the need for robust evidence, standardized guidelines and adequate organizational resources to support their implementation into clinical practice.”
