Cardio-Oncology Summit 2025 at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute
Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The National Institute of Oncology is developing cardio-oncology!
Cancer and cardiovascular diseases are the two most common causes of death in the world today.
However, they are increasingly not separate – on the contrary, they coexist, complicating the process of diagnosis and treatment. It was at the junction of these two areas that cardio-oncology was born – a field combining the competences of oncologists, cardiologists, haematologists, and radiotherapists.
At the National Institute of Oncology, patients have been covered by cardio-oncological care since 2012, i.e., since the establishment of the first Clinic of Internal Medicine and Cardio-oncology in Poland.
It is no coincidence, therefore, that it is at the Institute that the world’s greatest authorities in this dynamically developing field will meet in September at the first conference in Poland on cardio-oncology.
And we write about what cardio-oncological care at the Institute looks like today and why the synergy of these two fields is so important on our website.”
