The Weight of Cancer: Shining a Light on Cachexia – Cancer Cachexia Society
Cancer Cachexia Society shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We are just 53 days until the first-ever Cancer Cachexia Awareness Day!
Get ready for impactful events, inspiring stories, and our official ribbon reveal. Let’s shine a light on this overlooked condition.”
Amy C Moore, Director of Patient Engagement and Advocacy at Summit Therapeutics, shared this post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Cancer cachexia is the extreme, involuntary loss of fat and muscle that often occurs as a complication of advanced cancer (and can also happen in other chronic conditions). It is poorly recognized, poorly understood and sadly, we don’t have good interventions for it currently.
I am honored to be part of Team CANCAN, funded by Cancer Grand Challenges, as we work to understand the causes of and find new interventions for cachexia.
Learn more about Team CANCAN’s work.”
