In 2009, a mother seeking relief for her child’s pain changed the course of Dr. Christian Ntizimira’s professional journey. Today, that experience continues to shape his commitment to equitable cancer and palliative care.
We are pleased to share the candidacy of our Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Christian Ntizimira, for the UICC Board of Directors 2026-2028, guided by the Ubuntu philosophy: ‘I am because you are.’
His candidacy brings forward:
- Equity: representation of underserved communities
- Dignity: patients and families at the centre
- Access: pain relief and palliative care
- Culture and community: care grounded in local realities
