15 Posts Not To Miss From EACR2024!
The 2024 Annual Congress of the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR 2024) was a four-day congress dedicated to basic, preclinical and translational cancer research across a wide breadth of topics.
It was held from 10th to 13th June in Rotterdam. Our team at OncoDaily has picked 15 posts that you should not miss from this event!
Maria Rescigno delivers the Pezcoller-Marina Larcher Fogazzaro-EACR Women in Cancer Research Award Lecture ‘Microbiota in Cancer Progression and Treatment’.
This is my mentor on the main stage of EACR 2024! Huge congrats to Elisa Oricchio on receiving the Pezcoller EACR Translational Cancer Researcher Award.
Your dedication is inspiring and I am so grateful to be part of your dynamic, highly diverse, and hugely hard-working team.
Excited to be speaking at EACR 2024 about strategies to achieve and sustain gender equality in academia – and to close the scissors curves.
Really looking forward to discuss this with the wonderful EACR community! ‘Meet the expert’ session Room – RTM Stage Tuesday ~9am.
My great pleasure to co-chair the EACR 2024 symposium session on mechanism based clinical trial with giant in science, Mariano Barbacid.
Today at EACR 2024, Peter Sorger and AACR Fellow, Rene Bernards chaired the Joint AACR-EACR Symposium on “Spatial Analysis of Tumours,” featuring Itay Tirosh, R.K. Feist, Bozena Kaminska, and Maria Secrier.
The good (T NK), the bad (mono macro), and the ugly (neutrophils) concept for tumor immune microenvironment is out of date?
A holistic view on tumor microenvironment taking time, tissue determinants, clonality into account by Casanova Acebes Lab.
Hurray for my dearest friend and inspirational scientist, Elisa Oricchio, for her award recognizing her amazing work over the years on translational cancer research.
Brava Eli! So happy for you and so proud.
I had the chance to participate in the EACR Women in Leadership workshop today. It was amazing to see so many inspiring women gathering together and freely discussing their fears and challenges, sharing experiences and awareness, remembering us that we are all in this together and to stand up for each others.
Thanks to the organising committee for their time and commitment in creating a safe space for us – the future generation of women leaders in cancer research – and to the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) for this wonderful experience: it was a great way to start the EACR2024 congress!
It’s great to be back at EACR 2024. We’re presenting 2 posters covering ‘3D Cell Models mimicking the tumour microenvironment’ and ‘Cell health in a 3D matrix’ (location P-394).
DM me if you’d like a copy of the posters.
I had the great opportunity to co-chair the ‘Cell based therapies’ session at the EACR 2024! Thanks to the great speakers we had and my co-chair, Yardena Samuels who also gave a beautiful talk! (The photo was taken before the session started).
BC cells home in all bone compartments but osteolytic lesions are only detected in the metaphysis. No lesions in the epiphysis or diaphysis where less bone remodeling at EACR 2024.
Proffered paper: From breast cancer cell homing to the onset of early bone metastasis: The role of bone (re)modeling in early lesion formation.
Immensely honored to join the amazing board of EACR, and to be inaugurated as President-Elect of EACR is such an incredible community – it is my privilege to work with you all, to support your research, and to join this inspiring group of current and past presidents!
Meeting the prestigious Editors – what an enlightening session in how to publish in top-tier journals!
This morning I attended the cancer top journals editors panel at EACR2024 and asked when reviewers are going to be paid for their work.
The answers were evasive, they (seem to) do not see the problem. Rejected!
We’re delighted to have awarded 61 Travel Grants to help researchers from 34 countries to attend EACR 2024 – congratulations to all of you!
