Lisa Lacasse: ACS CAN is proudly celebrating Pride Month this June and beyond

Lisa Lacasse shared a post by ACS CAN on LinkedIn, adding:

“Happy Pride Month! American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is proudly celebrating this June and beyond.

We are fully committed to our advocacy to ensure access to a health care environment where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feels seen, heard, and supported.”

Quoting ACS CAN on LinkedIn:

“Happy Pride Month everyone! We’re acknowledging the month with joy and celebration but also continued activism.

This Pride Month marks 55 years since the Stonewall Riots that ignited the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement, reminding us of the contributions and sacrifices made by LGBTQIA+ people before us.

We honor this every June, though Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community should be celebrated year-round—and not just with parades and festivals, but with policies that support and protect LGBTQIA+ communities everywhere.

Everyone, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, should have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

Across the country, we’re working to increase access to quality, affordable care, eliminate cancer disparities, and break down barriers to proven cancer prevention and early detection tools for LGBTQIA+ people.

This work is critical to ending cancer as we know it, for everyone.”
