“In order to represent Armenia at the St. Jude Global Alliance EURO Regional Meeting, held on April 25 and 26,
– Lilit Sargsyan, Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia,
– Mane Gizhlaryan and Anna A. Avagyan, Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologists of our Center, and
– Ester Demirtshyan, Director of the City of Smile Charitable Foundation, visited Moldova.
Doctor Sargsyan is one of the 15 standing clinical members of the Regional Advisory Committee of the St. Jude Global Alliance, and doctors Gizhlaryan and Avagyan presented their poster-presentations on the topic of the Allogeneic Transplantation Program and the Cancer Predisposition Program, respectively.
We are proud to announce that Anna Avagyan won the first place according to the participants’ vote.
This meeting, was held in the capital Chisinau, aimed to unite and create a platform for cooperation between regional experts in pediatric hematology and oncology and representatives of foundations supporting children with cancer in the region.
n 2023, the meeting had been held in Armenia. Moreover, Armenia was the first country to join the St. Jude Global Alliance on April 12, 2019, uniting efforts with other countries to face the challenges of pediatric oncology and consolidate expertise to provide diagnosis and treatment for all children with cancer.”
