Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer: “Us vs. HPV” Global Webinar Series
The Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer (GIAHC) is a non-profit organization committed to eliminating HPV-related cancers, with a primary focus on cervical cancer. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Shobha Krishnan, GIAHC works to raise awareness, promote HPV vaccination, improve screening rates, and facilitate early treatment.
One of GIAHC’s most impactful initiatives is the “Us vs. HPV” Global Webinar Series, an annual event designed to educate and engage communities worldwide in the fight against HPV. The 2025 series, themed “Turning up the HEAT on HPV through Health, Equity, Advancement, and Technology,” took place from January 27–31, 2025.
The sessions featured expert presentations, live panel discussions, and interactive Q&A segments, bringing together leading healthcare providers, patients, community advocates, and young leaders to discuss the latest advancements in HPV prevention, vaccination, and cervical cancer elimination.
These webinars bring together leading experts, healthcare providers, patients, community advocates, and young leaders to discuss the latest advancements in HPV prevention, vaccination, and cervical cancer elimination. Each session includes expert presentations followed by live panel discussions where attendees can ask questions and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Beyond the webinar series, GIAHC also supports LMICS by providing small grants and donating medical devices to aid in cervical cancer elimination efforts. Their Young Leaders Program actively involves the next generation in advocacy and education initiatives.
Through these efforts, GIAHC is helping create a world free from HPV-related cancers, starting with the elimination of cervical cancer. To learn more, register for the webinar series, or watch past sessions.
