“Make no mistake we have made enormous progress in Medicine, including cancer.
In my own field of myeloma 20 new drugs in 20 years.
Overall survival has quadrupled.
We will make enormous progress over the next decade bringing hope and relief to patients.
But we have countless diseases where we are still so far away from cure and relief of suffering.
We have a ways to go.
But understanding why despite all the research progress may be slow is because we are a 100 years away from fully understanding human biology and know exactly how it works.”
