Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared on LinkedIn:
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been observed in October since the eighties. It is called ‘Pink October’ as people around the world adopt the pink colour and display a pink ribbon to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and routine screening for the early diagnosis of breast cancer, the second most common cancer globally, behind lung cancer.
As UICC member organisations around the world are taking action in October, UICC is highlighting their work, strengthening advocacy efforts, and providing resources to support equitable access to breast cancer care.
