PERISCOPE II Reinforces the Role of Evidence-Based Treatment Decisions in Gastric Cancer – The Netherlands Cancer Institute

The Netherlands Cancer Institute shared on LinkedIn:

PERISCOPE II provides important evidence for gastric cancer with limited peritoneal metastases. In this European multicenter randomized controlled trial, adding gastrectomy, cytoreductive surgery, and HIPEC to systemic therapy did not improve overall survival, while treatment-related toxicity was substantially higher in the experimental arm. An important example of why randomized trials matter in guiding patient care.”
