A New Viewpoint on the Lancet Commission on Women, Power, and Cancer
The Lancet Group shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Cancer has a disproportionate impact on the lives and livelihoods of women.
In 2023, the Lancet Commission on Women, Power, and Cancer provided 10 priority actions for achieving equitable cancer prevention, treatment, and care—including:
- Ensuring data on sex and gender is collected in cancer health statistics.
- Researching, and acting on emerging cancer risks that disproportionately affect girls and women.
- Ensuring equitable access to cancer research resources, leadership, and funding opportunities for women.
In a new Viewpoint, Commissioners provide a framework to guide implementation of these recommendations.
