“Putting Psychosocial Standards into Practice
As we conclude the first year of the IMPACT – EU project, we are bringing our WP5 implementation activities to a close with our final meetings this week in Leuven, Belgium. Over the past months, we have worked with five paediatric oncology centres in Spain, Ireland, Romania, Slovakia and Belgium, combining hands – on training with the development of site – specific approaches to implement psychosocial standards in clinical practice.
The teams have been trained in tools including the Psychosocial Assessment Tool (PAT), My Logbook and Little Nirvana, supporting earlier identification of psychosocial needs and more tailored support for children and families throughout treatment.
Reaching this milestone after five implementation visits is a great success for the project and, above all, a result of the commitment and collaboration of all the teams involved. A big thank you to our clinical partners and project colleagues for making this first year such an important step towards integrating psychosocial care more systematically into paediatric oncology across Europe.”
