The OCEAN Project for Care and Research for Childhood Cancer across Europe – SIOPE
SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) shared an article on LinkedIn:
“The OCEAN Project is a game-changer in understanding the organization of care and research for childhood cancer across Europe.
- What did we do?
- Mapped 386 care centers in 38 countries across Europe.
- Published country-specific profiles highlighting differences in care, research, gaps, and solutions.
- Collaborated with 121 contributors, including patient advocates and young oncologists.
Why does this matter?
The differences in the organisation of care of paediatric and adult cancer patients need recognition and specific supports. Through OCEAN, we now have the evidence to underpin this important message.
