Ronny Drapkin: Pre-cancer atlas of fallopian tube precursors to high-grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

Ronny Drapkin, Franklin Payne Professor of Pathology in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Director of Penn Ovarian Cancer Research Center at University of Pennsylvania, shared a recent article on LinkedIn:

“This paper is the result of an incredibly fun collaboration with Sandro Santagata, Peter Sorger, and Charles Drescher. Led by a fantastic postdoc Tanjina Kader with Jia-Ren Lin and Clemens Hug, we provide a pre-cancer atlas of Fallopian tube precursors to High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer.

This data set is now also available on cbioportal.

Check it out.

Collaboration is defined as the action of working with someone to produce or create something.

While this definition is correct, in my experience, collaboration works best when you work with people you respect, who are equally motivated to advance the work, and bring joy to the endeavor.

That is exactly what it has been like to work with my old friend Sandro. I am excited to continue this work with him and the rest of the Harvard and Penn teams.

We are incredibly grateful to the patients that donated their tissues, our surgeons (Stefan Gysler, Sarah Kim), Gabriel Mingo and Euihye Jung, MBA for their commitment to developing this pre-cancer atlas.

Finally, we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of The Gray Foundation, led by Jon and Mindy Gray (Jon Gray, Dana Zucker, Pat Morin, Chi Van Dang).”
