“The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be 333,830 new cases of prostate cancer and about 36,320 deaths from prostate cancer in 2026.
The fact that tens of thousands of men will die of prostate cancer in the U.S. every year means this continues to be a very important issue.
It also means there’s still progress to be made.
September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and, as someone who has dedicated his entire career to taking care of prostate cancer patients and doing research to improve outcomes in this disease, here’s the two things I recommend you do this month.
- Get screened. And tell your friends and family members to get screened as well. Prostate cancer screening is easy, and important.
