Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, shared on LinkedIn:
“This past weekend, myself, Dionne Smith Christopher and Jamee Telford of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance brought together CRC experts, industry leaders, and advocates for our Screen Smart event – a working session focused on one urgent goal:
Closing the gap between what we know about colorectal cancer screening and who’s actually getting screened.
CRC thought leaders Pascale M. White and Keith Winfrey provided context on the new American Cancer Society screening guidelines and clinical implementation considerations.
We’re grateful to them and to our industry panelists who brought perspective from across the screening landscape, including:
- Paul Limburg – Chief Medical Officer, Screening, Abbott
- Sam Asgarian – VP Clinical Affairs, Screening, Guardant Health
- C. Jimmy Lin – Chief Scientific Officer, Freenome
- Todd Kelley – hief Medical Officer, Polymedcoo
- Andrew Barnell – Chief Executive Officer, Geneoscopy
- Jonathan Cohen – President-Elect, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)
- Rohit Singhania – Governor for Connecticut, American College of Gastroenterology
And a heartfelt thank you to our special guests, Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak, for sharing their personal connections to this disease and for helping bring greater awareness to the importance of screening.
As the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to ending colorectal cancer, the Alliance is committed to turning these conversations into action – better screening education, easier access, and more lives saved through early detection.
The science is clear on what saves lives.
Our job now is making sure that science reaches every community.
