MD Anderson Cancer Center Awarded Over $9M SPORE Grant for Sarcoma Research

MD Anderson Cancer Center shared a post on LinkedIn:

“MD Anderson’s sarcoma team has received a more than $9 million Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to develop new immunologic and targeted treatments. The grant is led by Richard Gorlick and Andy Futreal.

The team will advance two key projects:

  • A clinical trial of adoptive cellular therapy for chordoma, a rare tumor of the skull base and spine.
  • A Phase II clinical trial of antibody-drug conjugates for osteosarcoma, a bone cancer that often affects children and young adults.

This effort brings together experts from across the institution along with patient advocates and advisors to accelerate progress in rare cancer research.”
