Maryam Lustberg: Endocrine Therapy-Related Symptom Management in Breast Cancer Care

Maryam Lustberg, Director of the Center for Breast Cancer at Yale University School of Medicine, shared on LinkedIn:

“In the coming weeks, I will be highlighting the key research studies led by oncologists as part of multisciplianary teams focused on symptom management related to endocrine therapy for breast cancer.

These studies were conducted as early as over a decade ago, funded by National Cancer Institute (NCI) and ran by the major cancer cooperative trials. As the co chair of Symptom Intervention for Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, I feel strongly that these contributions need to be seen AND utilized in routine practice.

As new focus rightfully is being given to menopause concerns of individuals after cancer, it is important to appraise the existing large body of data for symptom managment.

As a community of oncologists and researchers, we have cared deeply about this issue.”
