“It is with great pleasure that I share the publication of the results of the PHRIP-funded QUALHYBOM study in the journal Supportive Care in Cancer.
I would like to warmly thank all the patients who have placed their trust in us and who have been involved with commitment throughout this clinical study.
The objective of QUALHYBOM was to evaluate the contribution of hypnosis combined with local anesthesia, compared with local anesthesia alone, during osteospinal cord biopsy.
The results show that hypnosis support during this gesture, which is often perceived as painful and anxiety-provoking, significantly allows:
- improve patient comfort
- reduce their pain
- reduce their anxiety
- improve the comfort of practitioners during the performance of this examination
This publication is the result of a tremendous collaborative work between the hematology teams of Prof. Roch Houot of CHU de Rennes, Prof. Emmanuel Gyan of CHU Tours, Dr. Marlène Ochmann of CHU Orléans, and Dr. Antoine Bonnet of Centre Hospitalier Bretagne Atlantique.
