Laura Bukavina: Higher complications in ileal conduit patients versus neobladder patients
Laura Bukavina, Urologic Oncologist at Cleveland Clinic Urology and Associate Editor of European Urology, posted the following on X:
“Contemporary ileal conduit patients show higher rates of complications than neobladder patients—postoperative (49% vs. 43.6%), wound (4.2% vs. 2.7%), genitourinary (13.1% vs. 10%), and blood transfusions (19% vs. 15.6%). Patient selection bias or improvement in neobladder approach?”
