“King’s College London has collaborated with colleagues in China to analyze the growing impact of China-developed drugs (CDDs) on the global pharmaceutical landscape.
The study, led by Professor Richard Sullivan, looked at the international approval of Chinese-developed medicines over a 35 year period. The researchers identified a clear shift in China’s global pharmaceutical presence, including a rapid increase in innovative therapies, and a boost in approvals for immunology and oncology medicines.
These changes reflect the increasing international competitiveness of Chinese drug development in areas of high unmet clinical need.
