“Delighted to share our latest publication in JCO Precision Oncology.
In this report, we describe two cases of HR-positive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer that underwent triple-negative transformation during disease progression. Importantly, ctDNA findings alone could have led to inappropriate treatment selection, while tissue biopsy revealed the dominant disease phenotype and fundamentally changed management.
Our key message: liquid biopsy is a powerful tool, but it does not replace tissue biopsy. Integrating both approaches is essential when metastatic disease progresses, particularly when clinical behaviour and ctDNA findings appear discordant.
