Kate Rouch: Daraxonrasib Represents Progress in Cancer Treatment

Kate Rouch, Cancer survivor, shared on X:

Daraxonrasib is a remarkable breakthrough. But as a cancer survivor, I find the breathless e/acc claims that cancer is cured and chemotherapy is over deeply misguided.

Daraxonrasib is a candle in the darkness. It can cause patients to bleed profusely from their faces. They still have to endure brutal chemotherapy and surgery. And these cancers remain aggressive and deadly.

The e/acc community (to which I belong) should celebrate genuine scientific breakthroughs like this without overpromising or minimizing what patients endure.

Optimism is powerful but it must remain grounded in science, patient experience, and how much work is still left to do. We can do it, but we haven’t done it yet.”
