Joshua Reuss: Discordant IO response in biphasic diffuse pleural mesothelioma
Joshua Reuss, Thoracic Medical Oncologist at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on X about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in JTO Clinical and Research Reports:
“Out today in JTO Clinical and Research Reports, our case report detailing discordant IO response in biphasic diffuse pleural mesothelioma with identification of BRAF V600E and durable response to BRAF/MEK TKI. Highlights importance of NGS in this rare malignancy.
In this fascinating case, sarcomatoid histology had brisk response to IO, but epithelioid showed rapid progression, with subsequent durable response to BRAF/MEK TKI. Special thanks to Dr. Olivia Wilkins (PGY-2) for her work on this.”
