UNICORN is a Phase 2 study, now published in Nature Medicine, that demonstrates promising neoadjuvant immunotherapy activity (botensilimab + balstilimab) in resectable colon cancer, including (historically) immunotherapy-resistant MSS tumors.
The great news
Major pathological response in 36% of MSS and 100% of MSI-H patients (with no recurrences observed in the combination cohorts at the current follow-up).
Importantly, Natera/ctDNA – supported this with signatera genome, used for longitudinal monitoring. ctDNA clearance correlated with pathological response, including all five evaluable MSS major responders, highlighting the potential of molecular response assessment.”
