“A study out of Stony Brook Cancer Center this week announced that one of their teams engineered a therapy that combines a natural tumor-suppressing molecule with a standard chemotherapy drug, designed specifically to stop non-small cell lung cancer from developing drug resistance.
In their lab model, tumors shrank by more than 95%. This is early, preclinical work.
Almost every treatment now saving lives went through this exact stage first: promising, unproven, and in need of someone willing to fund the next step.
