Jason R. Williams: How the Liver Microenvironment Shapes the Outcome of Cancer Metastasis

Jason R. Williams, Founder and Director of Interventional Oncology and Immunotherapy at Williams Cancer Institute, shared a post on X:

“In the clinic I have seen a damaged liver heal on imaging once we restored immune function. Same lesson as this, from the other direction. The tissue decides.

A sick liver is fertile ground for cancer. A healthy one fights it. Metastasis is not written by the tumor’s genes alone. The ground the cancer lands in shapes it just as much. Change the ground and you change the outcome. This is the work we do every day at WCI.”
