“Lung Cancer Early Detection: A Positive Step Forward
ELLOK, the Hellenic Cancer Mission Hub, welcomes the intention of and announcement by Alternate Minister of Health Eirini Agapidaki regarding the develoopment of a pilot programme for lung cancer screening in Greece, anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
The processes now underway to develop the programme represent an encouraging development in advancing early detection of lung cancer, a priority that ELLOK has consistently supported through its work and collaborations at national and European level.
The announcement was made yesterday (20 October 2026), during a roundtable organised by ygeiamou.gr”
