“I recently completed a six-week internship at the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Institute Scotland with the Colorectal Cancer Research Group.
Over the past six weeks, I have gained hands-on experience in a cancer research environment, developed new laboratory and research skills, and learned from an amazing team.
During my internship, I worked with mouse-derived organoids, carrying out organoid culture, cell culture, western blotting, tumour scoring and data analysis.
I was also fortunate enough to attend the Beatson International Conference, where I had the opportunity to hear from leading researchers about exciting advancements in cancer biology.
It was very inspiring to hear about innovative research taking place and to learn about the latest developments in the field.
A huge thank you to everyone in the Colorectal Cancer Research Group for making this such a great experience.
