Florian Lordick: Important gastric cancer publication from LEGACY consortium connecting Latin America and Europe
Florian Lordick, Professor of Medicine at the University of Leipzig, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in ESMO Open:
“Important Gastric Cancer publication from the LEGACY consortium connecting Latin America and Europe.
Congratulations to Tania Fleitas Kanonnikoff, Rodrigo Dienstmann, Andres Cervantes, Sarah Derks, Erika Ruiz-Garcia, Maria Alsina, Fatima Carneiro and all cooperating colleagues.
- GC is highly heterogeneous at clinicopathological and molecular levels.
- We found major differences in the prevalence of actionable biomarkers across European and LATAM populations.
- HER2-positive and high PD-L1 are enriched in Europe, while EBV-positive and high TMB are more prevalent in LATAM.
- Intestinal HER2-negative tumors are enriched for mutations in HRR genes.
- Diffuse GC have unique microenvironment and pathway activation signature score.”
