Daniel Kelly: The Need to Push for Greater HPV Awareness Has Never Been Greater

Daniel Kelly, Vice Chair at Mission Board on Vaccination in Europe and Governor at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, shared on LinkedIn:

“Have heard that some think we have all heard enough about HPV cancers. Enough about HPV vaccination and screening, or universal access. Surprisingly, this includes some in leadership roles. The need to push for greater awareness has actually never been greater.

All HPV cancers are preventable but vaccination is politicised. This piece explains how countries and health systems can learn from each other to save more lives. Having a new resource such as the European Cancer Organisation HPV toolkit allows best practice to be shared, as well as successful case studies from a number of countries within and beyond Europe. The challenge continues and this resource is a valuable addition.
