Eduardo Bruera: Circadian Rhythm in End-Of-Life Delirium

Eduardo Bruera, Medical Doctor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management:

“In 128 advanced cancer patients with end-of-life delirium, breakthrough restlessness peaked between 3–11 PM, with higher rescue med use and RASS ≥+1 episodes. This ‘sundowning’ pattern may guide monitoring, treatment timing, and caregiver education in palliative care.”
