“Sharing our new publication from the SKYSCRAPER-05 trial in JTO Clinical and Research Reports, studying an immunotherapy combination (tiragolumab, an anti-TIGIT antibody, plus anti-PDL1 atezolizumab) with or without chemotherapy around the time of surgery for patients with resectable stage II–IIIB non-small cell lung cancer.
Although subsequent phase 3 TIGIT programs in metastatic NSCLC have been negative and development has largely been halted, it remains important to add these perioperative data to the literature: the regimen was feasible around surgery, with a safety profile in line with other perioperative immunotherapy–chemotherapy approaches and MPR/pCR signals across PD-L1 subgroups that are comparable to contemporary trials.
These results contribute to the wider evidence base on how to integrate immunotherapy before and after surgery to improve outcomes for people with early-stage lung cancer, even as the field refines which checkpoints to take forward. Grateful to the patients, families, clinical teams, and international collaborators who made this work possible.”
