Today’s New York Times article, written by Gina Kolata, highlights the work of Rebecca Stone and Kara Long, two key leaders of Break Through Cancer’s Intercepting Ovarian Cancer TeamLab.
We are proud to have helped get this important work off the ground and excited to launch our partnership with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and help bring this potentially lifesaving approach to more women.”

”When I joined Break Through Cancer in 2023, I learned that most ovarian cancers begin in the fallopian tubes. That fact stopped me.
As many of you know, this one is personal. My mother is an ovarian cancer survivor, something too few women who are diagnosed can say. Even with that family history, I did not know. When I talk with friends and family, they do not know either. Even more surprisingly, my PCP did not know.
Education and access are critical for women’s health. So is funding cancer research.”
