“Four years on, the survival benefit in PEACE-3 becomes even clearer.
Our EMUC26 presentation highlights the long-term results of EORTC-1333/PEACE-3, comparing enzalutamide plus radium-223 with enzalutamide alone in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and bone metastases, without visceral disease.
- Four-year overall survival: 39.4% vs 29.0%, an absolute improvement of 10.4 percentage points.
- Median overall survival: 38.2 vs 32.6 months (HR 0.76, 95% CI 0.60–0.96).
- Four-year PFS2: 33.0% vs 22.3%, supporting a benefit that extends beyond first progression.
These results strengthen the evidence for combining enzalutamide and radium-223 in this patient population. Bone protection and careful monitoring remain essential, given the increased fracture risk.
Thank you to the patients and their families, our investigators and the EORTC team who made PEACE-3 possible, and to Ray McDermott for presenting these findings on behalf of the study group.”
