Our New Living Guideline Update, Treatment of Multiple Myeloma, is Now Available – ASCO

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Our new living guideline update, Treatment of Multiple Myeloma, is now available. New recommendations include that patients presenting high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) choosing the right management strategy is critical to balancing efficacy with patient quality of life.

Current clinical recommendations support two primary approaches for this patient population:

Active Monitoring: Close, structured surveillance to detect early signs of progression.

Targeted Intervention: Treatment with daratumumab for a duration of up to 36 months.

Notably, routine use of lenalidomide is not recommended in this setting. Tailoring the approach to individual patient risk profiles and treatment goals remains essential.”
