“The ERASur Trial Goes Global!
The ERASur clinical trial (Alliance A022101) has officially expanded its footprint outside the United States, taking a major step forward in international clinical collaboration.
Led by Alliance Study Chair Dr. Eric Miller of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, this NCI – sponsored Phase III trial is now actively open to patients in Canada and Mexico – with sites in Colombia and Chile expected to begin enrolling later this month!
What is the ERASur Trial?
For patients whose colorectal cancer has spread exclusively to the liver, aggressive local therapies are already known to improve survival outcomes. However, ERASur is answering a critical, unresolved question: Does adding ‘Total Ablative Therapy’ (a combination of targeted radiation, ablation, and surgery) to standard chemotherapy improve overall survival for patients whose cancer has spread to up to four different sites across multiple organs?
By expanding globally, this pragmatic trial brings cutting – edge, personalized treatment strategies directly to diverse patient populations across the Americas.
A massive congratulations to Dr. Miller, the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology and all the international coordinating teams making this global expansion possible!
