George Vlachogiannis: CRC screening adherence among Asian Americans using multi-target stool DNA testing

George Vlachogiannis, Managing Editor at Cancer Control, shared an article by Mallik Greene, et al. on LinkedIn:

“A recent study published in Cancer Control sheds light on colorectal cancer (CRC) screening adherence among Asian Americans using multi-target stool DNA (mt-sDNA) testing.

An analysis of over 336,000 first-time users revealed a notably high adherence rate of 71%, outperforming traditional screening rates reported for this population. Adherence was highest among those under GI care (82%) and those who received digital outreach (SMS/email).

However, disparities persisted—patients with Medicaid, non-English speakers (especially Spanish), and those without specialist care showed significantly lower adherence. These findings underscore the critical need for targeted digital and provider-led interventions to close screening gaps and reduce CRC burden in a growing and underserved population.”
