Yan Leyfman: A new computational tool to study gene regulation in cellular differentiation
Yan Leyfman, Co-founder and executive director of MedNews Week, shared an article by Jeong-Ryeol Gong, et al. on LinkedIn:
“Researchers have introduced a new computational tool, BENEIN, to study gene regulation in cellular differentiation. By analyzing human large intestinal cells, they identified MYB, HDAC2, and FOXA2 as crucial genes. Inhibiting these genes was found to induce enterocyte differentiation.
Further, experiments showed that simultaneously targeting these genes could convert colorectal cancer cells into cells resembling normal enterocytes, potentially reducing their cancerous properties. This was validated through in vitro and in vivo studies.”
