Nicholas Hornstein: CtDNA for Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma is not as robust as in Colorectal Cancer
Nicholas Hornstein, Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at Northwell Health, shared a post on X about a recent paper by him and colleagues published in Clinical Cancer Research:
“Despite my normal chorus in tumor board, ctDNA is not a perfect tool. In Clinical Cancer Research we publish that although the positive predictive value is still good, ctDNA for Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma is not as robust as in Colorectal Cancer.
Only 38% positive in the metastatic setting. 13% with actionable mutations.”
