At Global Voices in Renal Oncology (VIRO) 2025, organized by OncoDaily, Dr. Gang Zhu, President of CACA Genitourinary Cancer Holistic Rehabilitation Society, delivered a talk on “Robotic Surgery with AI Enhanced Holographic Imaging: Bridging Precision, Efficiency, and Functional Preservation”. He emphasized on the challenges of achieving oncologic control while preserving organ function and ensuring patient safety.
Dr. Zhu highlighted the transition from 2D to 3D visualization through holographic imaging, which allows surgeons to better plan operations, navigate anatomy, and communicate surgical risks with patients. He showcased how integrating holography with robotic surgery improves precision in tumor resections and enhances medical education and training. Through clinical examples, he demonstrated how these innovations are transforming complex kidney cancer surgeries, advancing patient outcomes, and shaping the future of surgical oncology worldwide.
He concluded by noting that holographic imaging can be used in patient consultation, education, training, surgical planning, and navigation, and that future multimodal integration with PET scans may further advance precision surgery, personalized treatment, and functional preservation..
