Rosa Lucena: Turning Diagnosis Into Survival with Cancer Research UK Charity Walk

Rosa Lucena, MES Network Engineer Apprentice at Vodafone, shared on LinkedIn:

I am not a runner, so I’m walking it. I want that on record.

In January I did the 100 push-up challenge. Several sets a day, squeezed in between other things. I felt fantastic, so I signed up for something considerably longer.

On September 19th I’m walking the half marathon for Rosa Lucena (CRUK).

Thirteen miles is a genuinely stupid distance for a person with my hamstrings. But it’s a real amount of money for a charity that funds the trials and lab work that turn a diagnosis into something survivable.

Every pound goes straight to them. Laugh at my finish time later.”
